A friend of mine told me about this research that showed white people are more reluctant to talk about the differences in people's cultural norms for fear that they may be labelled as racist. People of a visible minority, however, were far more likely to talk about it without that fear. I wouldn't be surprised if this also applied to other forms of prejudism and discrimination.
