Big White

Big White is a great mountain. I'll go back there any time. I spent the past weekend at Big White and even though we didn't have the best snow, (hard-packed, groomed, but not too icy) and the weather was a little bit on the cold side (-20C), we still had a good time. The mountain has some of the best runs I've ever been on. Fast and challenging, but at the same time forgiving and fun. Kalina's Rainbow and Roller Coaster were a couple everyone should try. The sky was clear and visibility was unlimited. The view was beautiful. The cabin we stayed in was a ski-in/ski-out place. And it really was ski-in/ski-out. No "you just have to walk 5 minutes to the lift" crap, I mean we were right beside a run. Walk 15 meters, strap in, and you have a Cypress-sized run before you even get to the main lift. Then, after a long day of snowboarding (ok, it wasn't that long, but 4 hours is pretty good), we had the hot-tub to relax in. The hot-tub made the whole trip worth the money. After the soak: eat, sleep, and repeat.
